Christian Leadership: (2 minute read)

I pray my assumptions are correct, but nonetheless, I have them 💦. I suppose you do as well. I am going to reveal my assumptions about you in just a moment. But first, let me continue. I guess we all have assumptions about others, but I have tried to develop my assumptions over the years. I speak to so many people each year, and this requires that I have a foundational starting point from which I speak. So here are my assumptions that I am writing to you from:

Assumptions I Have About You! (I pray I am right 😊)

  1. You are a follower of Jesus! I mean, how else would you end up on my email list? You have gotten here through supporting our ministry, coming to an event, enrolling for a course, or purchasing an item on my website, all of which are written or designed for Jesus's followers.

  2. You desire to grow. God has created you with intentionality and purpose in mind. You know and sense that with every part of your being, but if you are like many people, you are in the midst of tension as you seek His destiny, purpose, and will for your life. That is where #TheEquipper comes into play. Keep reading, and I will tell you more

  3. You are valued by God. I know this assumption is correct, but I’m not sure that you fully understand the great worth, love, and value you have in the eyes of God and actually me. You see, I’ve spent decades praying that I might see you through the eyes of our heavenly Father. Although I am not yet where I want to be or where He desires me to be, I have felt His heart for you. You are a child of God, my brother or sister.

  4. You desire to receive encouragement. As I have asked the Lord how I might serve you better, I believe He has given me the desire to touch your heart and further build you up each week. That is why I am launching The Equipper, your 7-minute weekly newsletter delivered each Saturday morning at 9 am (New York Time), empowering you in spiritual warfare and Christian leadership.

Spiritual Warfare: (2 minute read)

Do you experience spiritual warfare? Oh, how this can be such a touchy subject, but let’s not let it stop us. How do you define it? I define it as a direct confrontation with demonic spirits. Those demons can be inside of people or outside of them, but they are the source of the opposition if we are to classify it as spiritual warfare.

I have a saying that I often use: spiritual warfare is not closing your finger in a car door. I use that statement to show people we must not water down the words we use and reduce them to such things.

This is the second reason I will be sending out The Equipper, your 7-minute weekly newsletter empowering you in spiritual warfare and Christian leadership.

It is imperative that you are equipped to understand spiritual warfare. I'm not implying that you must become an expert or start leading multiple deliverance sessions each week, but you must come to a basic understanding of true spiritual warfare. Therefore, each week, as part of this format, I will be including a portion of the content to build you up and equip you in spiritual warfare.

Tips in Spiritual Warfare

  1. Demons are real! They want to destroy you and your family.

  2. They want to steal your hope and cause you to surrender your God-given authority.

  3. They desire you to be ignorant of the schemes and plans they have laid against you and the body of Christ.

Ephesians 6:10-18 nlt

10 A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. 12 For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.

13 Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. 14 Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. 15 For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared.[e] 16 In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. 17 Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

18 Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion.
